And that is exactly what the children of Israel found out when they left Egypt.  As they moved out of Egypt and God destroyed Pharaoh and the Egyptian army on their behalf at the Red Sea, all other big nations had heard about them and their God.   So, from the outset, the nations around them wanted to terrorise the Israelites in their journey to their promised land.

Ex 3:18 And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

They, I mean the Jebusites, the Amalekites, the Edomites, the Amorites, the Moabites, the Philistines, the Assyrians, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites etc…; all decided that they would wage war against the children of Israel and be on the offensive, wanting to destroy them but God did not allow the enemies of the Israelites to take them down.

Most times, the army of the enemies were bigger and they were more in terms of manpower and still yet, God protected Israel.  The enemies of Israel wanted to humiliate her and make her to ask ‘where is our God?’  Some of these enemies wanted to corrupt the Israelites by persuading them to marry their women.

Judgs 3:5 The Israelites lived among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. They took their daughters in marriage and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods.   The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord; they forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Asherahs.

But all what the children of Israel wanted was to be able to get to their promised land.   They were a nation wanting to go and worship their God in the land that He had promised them.  A land flowing with milk and honey, a land where they could worship God freely, as it would be their land.

Do you now understand that there is purpose in what you are going through?.  Do you now see why you are a target of the onslaught of the enemy?

Read your Bible and see how the children of Israel suffered.  But God fought for them.  In the New Testament, we are asked if we have suffered to the point of or been tempted onto….

Hebs 4: 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

Be encouraged today as you read this, God has got you covered.  Don’t give up and don’t give in; if you can’t pray anymore or can’t fast anymore, thank God for the victories of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Numbs 10:When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.

Very soon, your shame will become your fame and your pain your gain, hold on; remember the story of Hannah, from being barren to having six children or the story of David, from being a young lad, tending his father’s sheep to becoming the king of Israel and God saying, he is a man after God’s heart, Acts 13:22.

Prayer points: Lord help me not to give up in my time of pain; Lord I am believing you for double for my trouble in Jesus name; Lord fight my battles for me in Jesus name.
