FROM LACK TO ABUNDANCE – PART 2

I would like to continue on the issue of how one can be in a position of lack one moment and the next, because Jesus has stepped into our situation, we can be in a position of abundance.  Let’s read this story below:

LUKE 5: 1- 7

One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.  When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”  Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”  When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signalled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

Maybe someone reading this who has their own business can relate to this story better.  However the Holy Spirit says even if you have a job, sometimes, one can still find it difficult to make ends meet.  Or someone who has a lack in their lives can also relate to this story, whatever that lack is.

Jesus needed a platform to preach, He therefore got into Simon’s boat.  After he had done preaching, Jesus told Simon to put his net into the water.  Jesus already knew what was going on with Simon, when He got into his boat. This story tells me that sometimes, God will tell you to do something that you might not want to do.  One thing I know is, if it is God telling you to do it, do it anyway, irrespective of it making sense to you or not.

So Simon tells Jesus that they have worked all night and caught nothing.  Simon was real with God; He told him the truth about his situation of working all night.  How demoralising must that have been for Simon?  To go home and have not fish and no money.  And so at the word of God, he let down their nets and they caught so much fish, that they had to call other fishermen in another boat to come and help them out, as their own nets were beginning to break.   Apparently, the two boats were so full that they began to sink.

As you are reading this, what is it that you are going through?  What is it that you are believing God for?  Whatever it is, I want you to know that God has got you covered.  He is God and as such, can come into your situation in ways that you are not aware of.  Are you open to Him today?  Are you open to the miraculous?  Are you ready to receive from Him?  If so, whatever He tells you to do, just do it, because He might tell you to go and minister or bless someone from your place of lack, before He shows Himself strong in your life and performs the impossible.

PRAYER POINTS: Father don’t let me miss the moment of your visitation; Lord come into my life and do the impossible for me, regarding this situation…; Father in your power move me from lack to abundance in Jesus name.  I declare that I will not toil in vain in Jesus name.
