BECAUSE YOU SAY SO…

The fishermen story

The fishermen story

So here we have some fishermen, toiling, fishing all night and catching nothing.  Can you imagine working for a month and not getting a pay check?  I don’t know how these men would have been feeling, as dawn broke?  Perhaps dejected, downtrodden, upset, sad, angry, tired, annoyed etc…

Sometimes, God will get you to do something that does not make sense; He will ask you go some place that does not make sense; He will tell you to give your last cash; He will tell you to say something to someone and you cannot understand why; or He could tell you to go see someone you no longer talk to; or He could ask you when going on your daily jog to take another way etc…  The point is, He wants to see if you will obey Him or not.

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”   Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”  When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.   When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10 and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.   And what a catch it turned out to be—a boat-sinking, net-breaking catch! It was such a big and unexpected blessing that Peter and all who were with him were “astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken”.

No matter how unreal what God tells you to do, just do it ‘because you say so’.  As you are reading this, I am sure you remember God telling you to do something and right after doing so, you got your miracle.

Well, if this has not happened to you yet, it will.  The next time, that still small voice tells you to do something unusual, just do it.  Like I said above, immediately you obey, then your miracle will make its way to you, pronto, like the above story.  I mean those fishermen caught so much fish that we are told their boat began to sank.  Was that a miracle or what?!

The enemy does not want you to obey God and so he will tell you what you heard is absurd and how you should not obey God and how what you heard is the silliest thing on earth.  Don’t listen to him! In the Bible we are told he is the accuser of the brethren.  Tell him to ‘get thee behind me satan’.

Remember, ‘because you say so’.

PRAYER POINTS: Lord give me the ability to obey you no matter what; Lord let your Spirit of Obedience fall on me in Jesus name.
