I want to talk about Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones in chapter 37 of the book Ezekiel.

Prophet Ezekiel starts off by telling us in vs 1 that, ‘The hand of the Lord came upon me….and set me down in the midst of the valley’ and it was full of bones.’   He continues in vs 2 ‘…and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.’ After all that, God then asked prophet Ezekiel in vs 3 ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’   Prophet Ezekiel is smart enough to reply and say ‘O Lord God, you know.’  In vs 4 we are told that God tells Ezekiel to ‘Prophesy to these bones…,’  In vs 7 we are told that prophet Ezekiel prophesied as he was commanded and as he prophesied, ‘there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.’

Let’s just picture this for a minute, God shows Ezekiel a valley of lots of dry bones and asks him first if the bones can live and after tells him to prophesy onto the dry bones and as the prophet obeys, the bones start to come alive.

When a dead situation is brought before God, it can come alive or be revived.  Luke 1:37, says ‘For with God nothing will be impossible’.  In Matt 12:22, a man who was demon-possessed, blind and mute was brought to Jesus and He healed him.  In Matt 15:31, we are told that the maimed were made whole.  In Luke 17:12, Jesus healed the ten lepers He met on his way at a certain village.  In Luke 7:2, we read about the centurion’s servant who was ‘sick and ready to die.’  Yet again, Jesus healed the servant who had been sick and he became well.

I am sharing these various stories with you in order to encourage you not to give up because with God nothing is impossible.  No matter how desperate or dire your situation might be, hold on to God!    Lay hold of the hope set before you – Heb 6:18.  If Jesus can heal those he met on the road or those who asked Him to come and heal their servant, how much more us who are believers?

Apostle Paul sums it up perfectly in Eph 1:19 when he said that we the believers may know ‘what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power...’

So whatever your ‘dry bones’ situation might be, be rest assured that this same God is able to take care of you and meet you at the point of your needs in Jesus name.  You serve a God whom the word ‘impossible’ is not in His dictionary. If this same God told prophet Ezekiel to prophesy to a valley of dry bones and the bones started coming together, then it is time for you to also prophesy to your ‘dry bones’ and command them to come alive, according to the working of His mighty power in your life.

PRAYER POINTS:  I prophesy to the dry bones in my life and command you to come alive in the name of Jesus, (call them by name).   I speak to this situation in my life that is not glorifying God and I command a turn around miracle for me in the name of Jesus, (call the situation/s by name).  I declare according to the might power of the work of God in my life that (such and such a situation/s) is being revived in Jesus name.
