YOUR SPIRITUAL WORSHIP IN 2021 – PART 1

Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I am of the opinion that this year 2021, God is calling us all to a place of spiritual worship, which ultimately means fellowship with Him.  I believe He wants our spiritual worship, which is communion with God; He wants us to value Him first above all else.   The core of genuine worship, is spelt out by the most important consideration we give God in our lives and where God is in our to do list.  Real or true worship is an experience of the heart, manifested by the way we live our lives of spirituality.

We worship God because He is the One who created the heaven and earth and formed us in our mother’s womb.  We worship Him not because of the things he can do for us but because He is worthy to be worshipped.   I am talking about the Greek word Koinonia, which is Christian fellowship and communion with God; it’s intimate spiritual communion and participation.  Koinonia is a profound, devoted fellowship with God.

John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

This year, we cannot afford to disregard God’s call to spiritual worship.   Spiritual worship is partnering with God and making sure that our spirits, souls and bodies are saturated in Him.   We have to be able to discern His still small voice and as we are attentive in a place of worship, we develop a reverence of God.    We see ourselves in awe of Him as we turn our minds to Him.

Real worship is making God our pride and joy, over all else; it’s putting Him before all else.  Our spiritual obligation and commitment is renewing our minds as Apostle Paul said in Romans 12:1-2 above.   We have to recondition our minds in order to make sure that our connection with God prevails and is unblemished, as well as robust this year.

Romans 6: 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.    Offering ourselves to God this year and beyond is having an insight to his heartbeat and doing His will.  However, this has to be a purposeful, thoughtful and spiritual experience.  We have to be purposeful in our spiritual worship with God.  If you want to know God more, you will need to seek him like never before and have that knoinonia time with Him.

Philippians 3:10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death; Apostle Paul wrote about wanting to know God; the knowing that he is talking about is beyond what our minds could comprehend.  There a profoundness, an endlessness and zenith to knowing God, in terms of the power of His resurrection, the fellowship of His sufferings and becoming like Him in his death, wow.

Let’s pray:

  1. Lord I want to worship you in spirit and in truth, please teach me to do so in Jesus name.
  2. Teach me Lord to worship you as you deserve to be worshipped in the name of Jesus
  3. May my life honour you Lord, in all that I say, do and in all circumstances in the name of Jesus
