It may feel as if you are the only one going through this abuse, it could be neglect, verbal, emotional or even physical.  Yet come Sunday, you are expected to play the role of a 1st lady, the smiling and happy 1st lady and yes, it is a role, as 1st lady is a title.  If only people knew…

My sister, I can assure you that you are not alone and there other 1st ladies all over the world who are also going through what you are going through but you don’t know them and they don’t know you either.  As such, you feel alone and frightened.

Is there someone that you can talk to?  Someone that you trust and you know will not betray your confidence?  Is there someone that you can ask to pray with you?  Is there a quiet place that you can go to?  Go there and hear His still small voice.

Sometimes, God will tell you to say nothing to anyone; it does not make sense, I know. When what you want to do is climb to the roof top and scream.  Remember Job, he felt alone, when he was being attacked by satan and yet God was with him, through it all.

As you are going through this internal turmoil, you remember a verse, a Scripture, that becomes your anchor.  How are you going to survive this’ you ask yourself.  You will survive this as the Bible tells us to be encouraged in the Lord.  My sister, what I am trying to say is, don’t despair, the best is yet to come because His promises for you are yeah and amen.

In Ps 83:1 the psalmist wrote ‘Do not keep silent, O God!  Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God!
Yes sis, be still, even in the midst of your troubles because you are not alone.  Do you remember when Elijah was feeling sorry for himself and said to God that he was alone? God told him that there were seven thousand prophets in Israel whose knees had not bowed to Baal – 1st Kgs 19:14-18.

Hebs 13:5 states ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’  Now that is your promise from God today, be encouraged my sister, you are not alone and God will fight your battles for you in Jesus name.
