In the book of Joshua chapter 6, God gave Joshua this instruction: Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.   ² Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. ³ March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. ⁴ Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. ⁵ When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”

The instruction that God gave was so specific and Joshua followed it to the letter; as a result, the walls of Jericho fell down.  The enemies of the children of God, who were mocking them and laughing at what they were doing were disgraced and destroyed.

I am sure that the inhabitants of Jericho must have been laughing for the first six days when the children of Israel were just going round, with the priests and their trumpets and the army following behind, all marching round the wall.  They must have thought that the children of Israel were delusional.  Were they wrong!

When you walk with God, He might tell you to do some unusual things, that will release what you are believing God for; or it will open doors for your or bring about healing.  God indeed works in mysterious ways.  The main thing is to obey Him.

Praise is the highest level of faith.   Sometimes, God wants you to praise Him, before the victory, as in the case of Jericho – its a Biblical principle.  Right from the first verse, we are told ‘Now the gates of Jerhicho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in’.  When I read this verse, it illuminates to my mind, that sometimes in the midst of a strong battle, whatever the battle might be for you, be it: health, career, finance, family etc… God wants us to take time out and praise/worship Him.

He created us to worship Him and so really yearns for us spending time and loving on Him. He is the Alpha and Omega (Rev 1:8), the one who see the end from the beginning and so wants us to take our focus off our problems that is already settled in the spiritual realm and thank Him, praise Him, worship Him for victory.

We are told in the Bible that He calls those things that are not as though they were – ; this means, praise Him for His healing power over your life when you are sick.  It means, sometimes, we will have to be strategic with our faith.  We will have to declare now, even though the miracle has not happened yet and some people might think we are delusional but that is not the case.  In some situations, we will have to praise God before the victory.

So, before the year runs out, I am saying to you, praise/worship your way to your breakthrough, to your miracle and to your victory and see your enemies disgraced and fall like the wall of Jericho.  What He might demand from you might be worship, from another person praise and from someone else thanksgiving.  

All in all, He wants you to take your focus off that warfare situation, that problem and redirect your focus back to Him. Remember, there is always an accompany sound for every occasion and that is why I say to you, you will sing your own song and dance your own dance.  

Most importantly, don’t forget that worship is the currency of heaven.
