PAIN WITH PURPOSE – YOUR FAITH HAS HEALED YOU

hope-FI P1stL

Here we are at the beginning of the new year and looking around us to see what God is doing.  No matter what may be going on around us or what negative news are being reported around the world, God is always up to something good.

I chose the title of this blog specifically because I know there is a lot of pain and heartache, do you feel low and dejected; hurt is around us and we as children of the Most High God might be feeling dejected or low for whatever reason, this is a new year and we do have cause to thank God.

I would like to talk to us today about the woman with the issue of blood: Mark 5: 24 A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.   30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”   31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”   32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

A lot of us are suffering from one sickness to another and I want you to not give up as this woman in the book of Mark didn’t.  She had been sick for twelve years, been to many doctors and still was not healed but one day, the Great Physician was passing by, to go and heal someone’s daughter and she had faith to touch the helm of His garment.  One thing that I have realised is, when you get to that point where you have done all you can and don’t know what else to do, God will show up for you.  But also, the Holy Spirit might then tell you to do something that seems ridiculous or insignificant.  And our healing is tied to obeying the voice of God.

I bet you that if this woman had told people close to her what she wanted to do or if they had heard what she wanted to do, they might have mocked her or told her to not do it.  But being a woman of wisdom, she kept what she wanted to do to herself and believed in her heart, trusted beyond her mind, that if she touched the helm of Jesus’s garment, she will be healed and that was the case.  The blood flow stopped immediately we are told.

What are you believing God for this year?  What is that still small voice telling you to do?  Have you done it?  Don’t give up on God because He will not give up on you.  No matter what you might be going through presently, I want to encourage you that your pain has a purpose.  By that I mean, once you receive your miracle, then you can talk to people about how God took your pain and brought out His purpose as He did with the woman with the issue of blood and don’t forget in order for you to have a testimony, you will have to go through a test.

CONFESSION:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for today, because you are my Father.  Thank you Father for your plan of redemption  that has not only provided the remission of sins and the New Birth but also provided for healing for my physical body.  For it is written in Matt 8:17 … This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.  What He bore, I need not bare and because he bore my infirmities and sickness, I am healed and I am free from the pain of sickness and disease in Jesus name.
