MARRIAGE 1ST AND MINISTRY 2ND

Hello my sister,

Do you agree or disagree with me on this title?  A lot of men of God in their old age, have regretted not being at home more often when they were in ministry, not making time for family, not being involved in the lives of their children, not having a relationship with their children and most importantly not being there for their wives.  So here they are in their old age and they really don’t know their children and think they know their wives but really don’t either.
Have you read 1 Tim 3 recently?  Here is what it says about a Bishop:  2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect. 5 If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?.

Everything that Apostle Paul wrote about is regarding the family.  That a Bishop/Pastor/Reverend etc…should put his family first before he can say that he wants to manage the affairs of the church and be in ministry.
So 1st lady, how are you helping your husband in this area?  Are you encouraging him to spend a bit more time at home, as we know if he is a full time Pastor or Bishop, the work load can be immense as he carries his congregations’ burdens.

Remind him that after ministry, he will have his family left and as such, it is important to put you and the children or put the family first.

God bless you woman of God as you steer your husband towards doing the right thing at the right time.  Allow God to continue to direct your path as you guide your family in the journey of life.

Prvb 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Prayer point: Lord as I speak to my husband regarding family first and ministry second, let him listen and change in Jesus name, amen.
