JESUS SPOKE TO THE STORM

bank-Pix P1stL

Mark 4:35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” 36 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” 41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

We have a situation here where Jesus and his disciples were travelling to the other side and even with the Mediator of a better covenant in the boat, there arose a storm.  I hope you will be encouraged to remember this story, next time that you are going through a storm or if you are going through one right now.  The devil does not care about us and to think that he tried it on with Jesus. His disciples woke him up and became emotional but Jesus, the cool King that He is, just rebuked the wind and the sea.

A Word from your Saviour is all you need; no more.  At His rebuke, the wind ceased and there was great calm. Whatever you might be going through right now, ask God to speak into your situation.  What answer or response do you need from Him?  Tell him to speak His words of life into your situation.  He is able and abundantly so.

The storm did not care that Jesus was on board, we are told that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy – John 10:10 and that was his intention that night, in the sea.  He wanted to terrorise the people in the boat, no knowing that the Creator of the Heaven and the Earth was sleeping, totally unaware of His surroundings in one of the boats.  The One who created everything into being is capable to speak to what He created to ‘Peace be still’.

We had a situation in the Bible where this evil spirit/s recognised Jesus an bowed to Him, in March chapter 5: 10.

I believe it is a situation whereby sometimes these evil spirits want to try the power of God but we thank God that we have a Father who saves His children when we call upon Him.  The Bible tells us that He will not leave us, nor forsake us – 1 Kgs 8:57 and we are also told that He saves His anointed and will answer us from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand – Ps 20:6

Arise like a warrior, you have a Saviour who understands what you are going through because He had to go through so much in order to save us.  I end with Hebrews 12:1-4

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.   Do Not Grow Weary  Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.  4 In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?

Remember to seek His face and ask Jesus to speak into your situation, as he spoke to the wind and sea and they calmed down.  May you have a testimony very soon in Jesus name.
