The Meaning of JEHOVAH GMOLAH: To recompense means “to repay or to reward…

As this year is coming to a close, God is pressing upon me to tell His people that He is alive and still in the business of doing miracles.  Don’t give up on God; He wants you to hold on to Him.  The Holy Spirit is reminding me of Jehovah Gmolah; the God who recompenses you, the God who will reward you for everything that you have lost, the God who will compensate you, the God who will make the devil pay for everything that He has stolen from you and that is why He is known as Jehovah Gmolah!

There are so many stories in the Bible about our God, Jehovah Gmolah.  In my opinion, the person who got the most  divine payback from God is Joseph.  From when he was little, his brothers were hating on Joseph because of the coat that his dad Jacob made for him, because he loved Joseph.   His brothers also hated him because of the dream Joseph had, in Gen 37:His brothers said to him, “Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?” And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said.

Joseph knew about the members of his household being his enemies according to Matt 10:36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.  Afterwards, his brothers plotted to kill him but  another brother intervened on Joseph’s behalf and suggested that they throw him into a pit; eventually though, they sold him to Ishmaelite traders who took Joseph to Egypt.  From living in Canaan land, Joseph ended up in a land known for being a land of bondage.  You would think Joseph’s story ends there but no it doesn’t because Joseph gets sold again when he is taken to Egypt.  He then ends up at Potiphar’s household, as a slave.  Potiphar is an official of Pharaoh and because Joseph was a hard worker and God was with him, he got promoted in Potiphar’s house, to be in charge of all the other slaves.  Joseph soon comes to the attention of his boss’s wife, who takes a fancy on Joseph and propositions him.  Joseph being a young man of integrity, told her in Gen 39: No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”

The woman felt spurned and lied to her husband about Joseph making advances on her, Joseph’s boss gets angry and threw him in prison.  Joseph’s plight does not end because he has been thrown into prison.  He helped Pharaoh’ cupbearer and baker who were thrown into prison, to interpret their dreams.  Everything that Joseph told them came to pass but they did not remember Joseph when they got out of prison and their dreams came to pass, as Joseph had interpreted to them.  But one day and this is after two years of helping the two men, Pharaoh has dreams too that his magicians could not interpret. It was only then, that the cupbearer to Pharaoh, remembered Joseph, in  Gen 41:9 Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, “Today I am reminded of my shortcomings. 10 Pharaoh was once angry with his servants, and he imprisoned me and the chief baker in the house of the captain of the guard. 11 Each of us had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own. 12 Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us, giving each man the interpretation of his dream. 13 And things turned out exactly as he interpreted them to us: I was restored to my position, and the other man was impaled.”

Then Pharaoh sent for Joseph, who goes from prison to the palace.

What has the devil done to you?  What trouble has he put you into?  What has he stolen from you?  What lies has he made up against you?  Has he made people to hate you for no reason?  Has he made people you helped to forget you?  Has he tried to steal your destiny from you? All these happened to Joseph and he still kept his character intact and kept trusting God and did not sin against God.  If Joseph was standing during all his trials, then be encouraged to stand and trust God too.

Jehovah Gmolah is here for you; Jehovah Gmolah is right there with you, as the devil is playing tricks on you; Jehovah Gmolah wants you to keep walking in integrity and keep showing up, despite those setbacks because your setbacks will become setups like Joseph.

Now is not the time to quit on Jehovah Gmolah because as 2017 is coming to an end, he wants to recompense and compensate you.  PUSH: pray until something happens.  The best is yet to come, don’t give up, Jehovah Gmolah will arise and fight your battles for you and disgrace your enemies.

Trust God to bring a solution to your problems and compensate you for all what the devil has stolen from you, diverted from you and kept from you in Jesus name.
